Learning Activities
This lesson will be used as an introductory lesson for our study of the 13 Colonies. This activity is a tutorial and is intended to provide students with new information.
- Students will log into our Learning Management System, access Social Studies and click on the 13 Colonies folder.
- Students will access Gold, God, Glory in America presentation and independently fill out their note taking guides. Gold, God, Glory in America was created in Prezi and includes a guided tutorial with a variety of media formats for students to access to learn some background information about the 13 Colonies.
- Students will be given approx. 30 minutes to complete the tutorial and then will come back together whole class to review some of the answers, paying close attention to the questions about motivations and regional differences.
After class discussion on the Colonization tutorial. Students will have an opportunity to explore some of the following online resources to deepen their knowledge of the topic.
